Unit 2 Discussion: Remote Network Administration:
NOTE: PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT BELOW BEFORE ANSWERING THIS DISCUSSION QUESTION.
There is always going to be a need to remotely administer a network regardless of the operating system. Over the weekend something can happen and there is a need for an administrator to fix something. It makes life much easier to do that remotely rather than coming all the way into the office to fix a problem.
The tasks of the administrator is to make sure these services are installed and configured properly so they are available when needed.
In your discussion post:
- Visit http://www.techrepublic.com/article/manage-remote-linux-servers-and-workstations-with-ease/ (Links to an external site.) and compile a list of three (3) different networking tools for remote management that can be used on a Linux server. Try to select different services that your peers have not already posted.
- Describe each of the three services and provide a screenshot or description of each. You may need to search the public web using a search engine like Google or Bing to find screenshots of systems with different services. Cite any sources you use in APA format; this includes sources for any screenshots that are not your own.
- When responding to your peers’ posts, describe your initial thoughts on the best advantage over the other system’s services they posted. Note any major similarities or differences your notice between the different services.
