Mistakes happen to the best of the best. The medical field is no exception. Nurses spend more time with patients than any other professional in the medical field and therefore prone to make more human error. To make sure we eliminate as much room for error as possible, there are checks and balances within the health care system to help protect and serve patients and family. In order to be better and provide the best care possible, every time, Nursing and nurses must constantly be open to change and education to keep up with our evolving patients and their needs.   Back in 1999, there was a major focus on the medical field, especially pertaining to preventable medical errors and deaths that were occurring.
