Evidence Based Practice and The Quadruple Aim.docx NURS 5052 Evidence Based Practice and The Quadruple Aim NURS 5052: Essentials of Evidence Based Practice Walden University Evidence Based Practice and The Quadruple Aim Evidence-based practice is a nursing practice that is a process of collecting findings, processing the findings, then implementing the research outcome. This process is a way to improve clinical practice with better patient outcomes. Thus, helps to ensure the highest quality patient care possible. When it comes to evidence-base practice and the framework of healthcare the outcome is centered around the Triple Aim. The Triple Aim has three approaches that improve health of populations, enhancing the patient experience, and to reduce the cost of health care. Evidence based practice, just may be the thing to help healthcare reach the Quadruple Aim, however, because it is not the standard of care there are numerous barriers standing in the way. The fourth aim is The Quadruple Aim which is to improve the experience of the care we provide (Sikka, Morath, & Leape, 2015). One of the problems with EBP is the lack of knowledge and the skills of nurses and other healthcare professionals. There is lack of educators, resources, policies that are outdated. When we are able to add more educators and support, update policies and provide appropriate resources then we will be able to decrease any and all problems with advancing EBP. Providing patients and families with the best experience possible is a goal of any nurse.
