Explain the reasons for English colonization (suggested length of 2–3 paragraphs) by doing the following:   In the mid 1500s, France and Spain were looking to establish faster and safer trade routes to Asia.  Explorers from Spain discovered South and Central America where they found precious metals which made them extremely powerful and wealthy. England saw how both countries had increased their wealth and decided that they should establish its own colonies.  By bringing back precious metals, spices and other natural resources, England was able to increase their own wealth (European Colonization, 2016).  England originally had sent boats over for fishing but realized that they could increase their profits more quickly by trading pots and pans, tools and metals with American Natives in exchange for beaver pelts.  These pelts were quite popular in Europe and sold for an increased profit.  In “A Briefe and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia” there were three main reasons for increased economic developments in America: widely available natural resources, potential profit increases, and the ability to take advantage of Native Americans (Norton, MB. 2015).  2.
