Forensic psychology is referred to as the interaction of the practice or else study of psychology and the law. Psychologists who are interested in this line of applied work can be found working in prisons, rehabilitation centers, jails, police departments, law firms, government agencies, schools or in private practice.
Approaches to understanding criminal behavior
• Biological approach which proposes that human beings commit crime because of internal factors of which they have little or no control.
• Causal approach which is observation of facts in relation to the phenomenon of crime hence interpreting them in relation to the possible causes of criminal behavior.
• Deficient in probity approach where by the criminals deficient in probity, commit crimes against property.
