ECON2004 Semester 1, 2017 ESSAY TOPIC: 
 Transport choices 
 The topic of this essay is: The factors that are likely to affect individual’s decisions about the type of transport they use daily and how they respond to changes in the market. 
 Therefore, your essay should explore: 
 1. Compare the trends in transport use in Perth and another city in Australia (with evidence). 2. The factors affecting individuals’ decisions about the type of transport (e.g., private cars, public transport, cycling, car-pooling, taxi, etc.). 3. Demonstrate how individual respond to changes (e.g., income, prices of vehicles, petrol prices, parking fees, etc.) in the market. 4. Government/University policies that intend to change your transport choices and its effectiveness.

Ensure that you include relevant diagrams and concepts – and that these are applied to the details of the essay topic. You MUST address the factors which affect transport choices and how individuals respond to changes in the market.

This section should evaluate the effectiveness of government/universities policies related to transport use, by aggregating choices of individuals who have different preferences. 
4. Conclusion 3 
The introduction should include some general comments on the topic and an outline of your essay. The conclusion should recap your key findings and include some general comments on the issues raised by your research.

The referencing score is compiled from having demonstrated an adequate range of research from appropriate sources (e.g., scholarly works), using the correct format.
