The topic for this week is "Locus of Control" and how it impacts attitudes and perceptions. For each paragraph, you will compare/contrast 2 statements and show how they reflect either an internal locus of control or an external locus of control. Support your assertions with details and examples. You are encouraged to reference course materials, outside sources, and Scripture as appropriate.

Paragraph 1: Leadership

• Statement 1 - Without the right luck (opportunities, good fortune, etc.) one cannot be an effective leader.
• Statement 2 - Capable people who fail to become leaders have not taken advantage of their opportunities.

Paragraph 2: Nature or nurture?

• Statement 1 - Heredity is the main factor in determining one's personality.
• Statement 2 - It is one's experiences in life which determine what that person is like.

Paragraph 3: Learner attitudes

• Statement 1 - Sometimes I cannot understand how teachers decide on the grades they assign.
• Statement 2 - There is a direct connection between how much I study and the grades I earn.
