Milestone 1.docx (1)  OL-215  Successful Company: Google  Southern New Hampshire University OL-215: Principles of Management   The extremely successful company that I will be profiling throughout this paper is Google. Google was started in August of 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin who had met at Stanford in 1995. (From Garage to Googleplex, n.d.). They used more than just a keyword search system but also used links to help weight the priority off the sites it would bring up. In 1998 after being given an investment check to get started they began in a garage as there first office. (From Garage to Googleplex, n.d.). Google has become so successful that it is now a household name and can even be used as a verb when telling people to œGoogle it. With their innovative programming methods, Google has become the most used search engine and one of the most visited sites ever. Their success has myself and other companies looking at them and analyzing how they do what they do and why it works. Their innovativeness does not stop with their search engine logic but also translates into their managerial style as well. Having a much freer style of team grouping and collaboration within the company and supporting successful ideas with funding and resources needed.
