The mere fact that the United States would not be the country it is today without the manual labor, ingenuity, and work ethic Africans brought from their homes in Africa can be seen in the world and written histories. Although many people view African Americans as people to be pitied, the truth is, at least during the early colonial and pre“American Revolution, at the dawn of the nation that would become America, African Americans had the Optimism of the unknown. In this outline of the American experience, exploration, and contributions of the African Americans in the American nation's early history will be reviewed. [1]  The cultural aspects of the average African American, whether a free man or a slave within the original 13 colonies and after that during the Revolutionary times, can be seen by the contributions and the cultural aspects and makeups of the United States. With the importation of African slaves from Africa into the United States the cultural aspects that an African brought with him to the United States was extensive.
