Long story short, critical thinking is the process of thinking without thinking. In order to do this, we have to analyze facts in order to form a judgement. Regular thought process tends to be biased or distorted even in you are unaware of it. Critical thinking is not something that is universal among people and each person is still subject to irrational thoughts. To be a critical thinker, a person would need to question and learn with an open mind. When reading materials for assignments or even news articles that catch your attention, to critically think, one would need to question the information and not take what you hear or read at face value. When arguing a point it is important to see and weight the options of both sides to then form your own opinion about the topic. For me personally, Critical thinking is the idea of making a decision based on straight facts and be completely emotionally removed from a subject. I would find it harder for myself to critically think on topics that I would consider a soft spot in my life because I would automatically go back to being biased with my regular thoughts and I would be more closed off on hearing another perspective on the opinion.
