There are efforts being made at towards homelessness however the lack for a progressive stride towards this issue apparent. According to the Alliance to End Homelessness (2017), over half a million-people living in the United States are experiencing homelessness. Furthermore, we see that a large percentage of youth or young adults make up the staggering number of individuals experiencing homelessness. When looking at county specific data we see that in Alachua County we have a rate of 20.0 per 10,000 homeless individuals. In order to begin assisting our fellow Americans—specifically this vulnerable population, we must advocate for our homeless population. Working towards bringing to light the dynamic issues these individuals face will facilitate the problem solving. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of healthcare policy, identify homelessness as a policy concern, describe a proposed solution to homelessness, and finally identify an elected official that may aid in executing the proposed solution.    Overview of Healthcare Policy  Health policy can be defined as the “decisions, plans, and actions that are undertaken to achieve specific health care goals within
