Netflix is interested in determining if there is a difference in the proportion younger adults (ages 18 to 30) who tend to "binge watch" Netflix shows versus the proportion of older adults (ages 31 to 50) do so. Netflix defines "binge watching" as watching more than 4 episodes of a show in a row without a break. Samples of 120 younger adults and 100 older adults were taken. Individuals in both samples were asked, "do you binge watch Netflix twice a week or more?" Those who answered "yes" are coded as 1 and those who answered as "no" are coded as 0.
Let Pyounger represent the proportion of younger adults (ages 18 to 30) who tend to binge watch Netflix shows and let Polder represent the proportion of older adults (ages 31 to 50) who tend to binge watch Netflix shows.
(a) 80.7% confidence interval for Pyounger - Pader, the difference in the proportion of. Construct a 80.7% confidence interval for Pounger - Polder, the difference in the proportion of individuals who binge watch Netflix shows. Lower Bound of 80.7% CI – (use at least six decimals) Upper Bound of 80.7% CI = (use at least six decimals)
(b) The confidence interval found in part (a) indicates the proportion of individuals who binge watch Netflix shows is for older adults compared to younger adults. ?
(c) Based on this data ? % ? the ? difference in proportion between these two populations is between the lower and upper interval I have stated.
Number of older people who answered yes : 4 out of 100 Somple Number of younger people who answered yes: 66 out of 120 Sample
