At times, though, this might not be the case. As an illustration, I recall the first time I learnt to ride a bike. I have many detailed memories of the colour of the bike, the venue of the incident, and the person who instructed me. It was a bad training, as I recall it, with me hurting myself and moaning for being too clumsy and unwilling to ride a bike for a few steps. I do not know how I was able to keep my equilibrium, and I do not remember my high school success when I rode my bike without my dad holding me. For several years, I felt I should not ride a bike, but I conquered my doubts and was able to take to a bicycle. The topic of disagreeable memories is clarified by an analysis of the memory system mechanisms. Memory mechanisms include the behavioral tasks we conduct in order to memorize different kinds of knowledge, and the forms we use the memory afterwards.
