Why is this sample appropriate for the population? What was the sample size? Was the sample size large enough to reflect the opinions of the population?  The population was the United States and the District of Columbia. The sample was adult individuals, age 18 or older, living in those areas.  The sample is appropriate for the population because there are many adults, age 18 or older, the U.S. and D.C. that can be surveyed.  The sample size was 961 adults.  I do not believe the sample size was large enough to reflect the opinions of the population because in the U.S. currently there are 209,128,094 adults over 18. Therefore, only an extremely low percentage of the population was surveyed; 0.000004% to be exact.  3.   Were the results parameters or statistics?
